You may have noticed...

So, you may have noticed that I put this little widget for my formspring.me account in the sidebar of my blog. It's neat, right? You really can ask me anything you want. Whether it's a hair question, or you just wanna know something about me! A lot of you have asked me some great questions already, and I thank you for them! I think something like this a great way for bloggers to get in touch with their fans, aside from just answering comments and such. However, I do want to clear a few things up for those who don't know how formspring works:

• I answer pretty much every question, there's only been a couple that I've had to delete. I'm pretty open, so as long as your question isn't like, horribly offensive or rude, I'll answer it.
• The answers don't get posted here - they're all on my formspring profile, so if you wanna see if I answered your question, you have to go there! Here's the link: http://www.formspring.me/HEARTSTARBOLT
  
• If you're going to ask me a hair question, BE SPECIFIC! Help me to help you, k? I'm pretty much answering blindly, because I can't actually see your hair, or see what the problem is - but I try my absolute best!
  
• If you wanna ask me about a certain product, please search my blog first to see if I've reviewed it. If I haven't, I'll look it up if I don't own it already + I'll try and answer you.
• In addition, please be specific about the product you want to know about, and try to ask a bit nicely. When I see things like "cost of tigi hairspray" it really makes me NOT want to answer. First because you're asking me like I'm a machine, and second because you're not being at all specific about what you want. There's a LOTTT of hair products out there, so I need some details! LOL!
  
• And also, I don't wanna sound rude, but please don't ask me where to buy something, or how much something costs - that's what Google is for!
  
• Tip: Try not to ask me what the "best" product is, because everyone's opinion of what the "best" is will be different. You could hate the products I love, so me telling you what the "best" is would be like... lying. And I'd rather not lie to my followers.

You may have noticed...

Hello all! If you've been following my blog for a while, or if you've read through a lot of my posts, you'll see that at the end of every month I do a Favorites post. You also may have noticed that I did not do one for November. There's a reason though. Most of it is.. well, I forgot. But I also realized I should just do a 2009 Favorites post. Or maybe I should just stop doing them, they don't seem to be very popular. Well, what do you think?

Red Haircolor Technique

Hey guys! Just thought I'd share a Red technique I did on a mannequin recently. I was inspired by Clairol's "Blazin' Intense Red" Technique, but I thought it was kinda boring so I took it to a new level. I used triangle partings all around the top of the head, leaving the hair under the occipital free. I lightened some parts to a level 7 and left the other parts natural (about a level 4, maybe 5). Here are some pics, and the products I used will be below them. Let me know if you like it. :D

The products I used were:

• Lightener: TIGI Colour Lights Modern Lightener with Coral and Ember Tonal Blends
• Red #1: Wella Koleston Perfect 6/45
• Red #2: Wella Koleston Perfect Special Mix 0/45
• Red #3: Pravana Vivids Red
• Color applied to free hair: Redken Shades EQ 05RV + Orange Kicker + Crystal Clear
• Finishing products: It's a 10 Miracle Leave In Product, Redken Blown Away 09, S-Factor Dream Drops, Bed Head Masterpiece Massive Shine Hairspray, Bed Head Headrush.

I'd love to do this on a real person! Unless they really loved how it is I would probably tone it down just a bit, maybe just slicing using a bright red and breaking up the base inbetween the foils with like a warm mahogany color. First post! =D

YAY! I'm SO excited to start sharing my knowledge with you all out there! Hopefully I'll gain some subscribers pretty soon and then the fun will really begin! =) Now, let me inform you on what you'll be seeing in this blog.

You will see:

+Product Reviews: I'll be reviewing assortment of hair products, including but not limited to hair color, hair lighteners, styling products, and hair tools/accessories. I will try to be as fair as I can, and I will always tell it like it is. I'll tell you what the product claims to do, what's actually in the product, and what it actually does. However, even if a product is not very good I will always try to find something nice to say about it.

+The science of Beauty: What all those difficult words you see on products really mean, and the effects they have on your hair. Do you have a question about a certain ingredient or even a specific product that you'd like to have more information about? Please ask me and I will try and find out everything I can that will help you! =)

+Debunking Stylist Myths: There's nothing that irritates me more than when a stylist uses false claims and intimidation to get you to buy (or not buy) certain products. Don't ever let yourself be talked into doing or buying something you don't want to, just because that's what your stylist says you "need."

+Hauls: Whenever I go shopping for new products, I'll let you guys know what products I get, where I got them, when I plan to review them, and pictures! Just letting you all know now, I'm a HUGE TIGI junkie so a lot of the products I buy will probably be by them (P.S. I can't wait to try their new Love Peace & The Planet line!).

+My life: Not that my life is so interesting that I feel the need to inform the world, but I'll keep you up to date if anything of importance happens.
